Twiddleybitz May Colour Challenge

Here's my take on the May colour challenge on the Twiddleybitz ning site. I wanted to create something with a soft, dreamy feel to reflect the feeling of the photo of Holly. She was frolicking in the sunshine and picked some flowers for me. Then she stood still daydreaming for a moment and I was able to capture it. It's just an Instragram photo from my phone, but most of my favourites are lately.

I've had this piece of paper from the Prima Fairy Flora collection in my stash for a long time until the right photo came along. I took a bit of a mixed media approach to this layout with masking, paint, calico, canvas and randomly applied rub ons.

I used white paint and Pearl Smooch on the flourish...

...and watercolour pencils with Kindyglitz on the butterfly.

I made the flower by misting and layering some Prima canvas flowers along with a couple of tulle ones I'd cut out with my Tim Holtz tattered flower die.

Have a look at all the inspirational Twiddleybitz challenges for this month! I have the next three days off and plan to join in on a couple more of them. There are some great prizes to be won so why not get Twiddling?
